Our Property

The Fellowship is set on nearly two acres of beautifully wooded and landscaped land in a lovely residential area of the City of Poughkeepsie. Some of the stately  trees providing shade and color are more than a hundred years old. For more information about the history of the property itself, click here.

Just outside the main door is The Peace Pole Plaza.

In back are a playground for our children, immediately behind the Fellowship's garage, a picnic area with picnic tables and benches for outdoor meals and table games, and sometimes even meetings!

On the back of the garage nearby is a mural of a tree that has member and friend hand-prints for leaves: it's a work in progress that is a visible symbol of our Fellowship "Family Tree."

This area has a full view of the playground. With monkey bars, a swingset, a sliding board and room to run around, the playground provides outdoor fun for children in an easily supervised environment.

At the southeast corner of our grounds is our Labyrinth, which all are welcome to walk in meditation. Near the Labyrinth is a sign marking the beginning of the UU Memorial Trail which meanders from the Labyrinth area to the picnic area, and includes a bench and sculpture.

Meeting Your Needs

Whether you are looking for a place to have a one time meeting or conference, hold on-going classes or workshops, put on a concert or other theatrical event, or celebrate a special occasion, there are a variety of spaces at the Fellowship that are suitable for almost any need.

The Main Meeting Room is suitable for many rite of passage ceremonies, such as weddings, child dedications and memorial services, as well as conferences and workshops.

Some of our smaller spaces are suitable for ceremonies involving small groups. For example, the East Wing Library has been the location of small weddings where the guests were limited to a dozen. These spaces are also suitable for meetings and small workshops, and for breakout groups for larger conferences or workshops.

Please review the spaces available. If you find something that meets your needs, complete the rental inquiry form.  The office administrator will follow up with you within 1-2 business days.

You may review the rental contract, including rates for the various spaces, by clicking here to download a rental contract form.

For special events, season and weather permitting, our grounds may also be available for rental. Recent events held in our Labyrinth include baby dedications and weddings.

Please note that our minister, Reverend Daniel Miyake, is remote and only on-site a few times a year. However, he may be available via Zoom or other medium to help prepare and perform ceremonies (weddings, holy unions, child dedications, funerals, memorials, etc.) . We may also be able to recommend local UU clergy who might be available as well.

The Fellowship reserves the right to decide on the appropriateness of meetings taking place in Fellowship space.
